Wine-Gastronomy

Way of living in the South of France

Wine

Languedoc is the largest wine region is the world. Beforehand the winemarkers produced an enormous quantity of wine without caring for the quality. This marketing policy has radically changed over the last 30 years with the introduction of AOC-districts as Corbières, Minervois and Fitou.

Appellation d'Origine Contrôlé is a quality stamp that the wine produceurs mutually defend. Many local wines are also very tasteful and full bodied.

We gladly organize visits and winetasting at some local wine estates that we recommmend.

Gastronomy

French wine goes with french cuisine. At the reception it is possible to discuss local restaurants in the area that we have selected especially for you (from children friendly places to romantic restaurants).

There are many good restaurants in Narbonne (6km from Château de la Motte), alongside the quay of the Canal du Midi (5km) and by the sea.

Foodmarket in Narbonne

It is a great experience to go to the foodmarket in the covered Halles in Narbonne, where you can find frech fish and seafood, cheese and other local delicacies. The foodmarket is open every morning until 13h.

Shoping in the village

Shoping can also be done in the nice little village of Marcorignan, 5 minute walk from the castle, at the local baker and grocer.
